Les Gill

Head of SME Programmes

Les has a wealth of experience across different spectrums of the Automotive landscape including OEM’s and Tier 1 Organisations. In his career Les has filled numerous roles including Portfolio Manager for Product Lifecycle Management, Head of Manufacturing Strategy & Engineering at Rolls Royce, Bentley Motor Cars & Alstom Transport, as well as starting out as a principal engineer at Jaguar Cars.

As the SME & Supply Chain Manager at the APC, Les oversees and co-ordinates the delivery of a wide range of SME support activities.

Zoe Hall

Competitions Manager

Zoe has over 20 years proven commercial experience across industry sectors, in account and sales management. Zoe has built her experience within small SME start-ups and larger global organisations such as Virgin.

For the last 8 years Zoe was a co-founding Director of a Midlands based company specialising in environmental product design solutions, primarily for the automotive sector. Here her project management skills resulted in a variety of successful projects many of which were grant funded. All focused on both the economic and most importantly the environmental challenges the industry faces.

Her position as competitions manager at the APC allows her the opportunity to bring this experience and understanding of the challenges of competitions with the ability to offer the guidance needed.

Liam O’Neill

Corporate Communications Manager

Liam joins the Advanced Propulsion Centre from Jaguar Land Rover where he was the Global Technology and Innovation Storyteller - responsible for the messaging and launch of all major R&D stories relating to future smarter, connected and cleaner vehicl***

Starting off his career as a journalist intern at The Daily Express before moving into PR, means Liam has a 360-degree view of the industry, and nearly a decade of experience having previously worked with some of the largest names in the industry, including：Jaguar Cars, Land Rover, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles, Vauxhall Passenger Vehicles, Robert Bosch, Schaeffler, Shell, Spotify, Tile, Chevron, Vodafone and GSMA.

Liam will be responsible for designing and implementing the corporate communications strategy ensuring that the Advanced Propulsion Centre is recognised as the number one voice in the UK for all low-carbon powertrain development and production.

Chris Harris

Business Development LEad

Chris has over 15 years experience in the automotive industry working Johnson Controls Batteries, most recently as Senior Customer Manager responsible for business with two Japanese OEMs in EMEA region.

Chris has seen his job role evolve throughout his career, giving him the chance to gain experience of working with vast array of customers, trade sectors and tasks.

At the APC, Chris takes on the role of Business Development Lead.

Gareth Deakin

TDAP Project Delivery Lead

Gareth has more than 35 years experience working in the automotive industry, most recently with Froude Hofmann, as a supplier of advanced vehicle, engine and powertrain test systems. He has held senior roles including Sales & Marketing Director, Technical Director and Business Development Director.

A mechanical engineer by training, Gareth has worked on projects worldwide with OEMs, suppliers (large and SME) research organisations and regulators across the product portfolio of motorcycles, cars and commercial vehicles.

At the APC, Gareth’s key focus is to provide support for SMEs to accelerate the development of technology.

Nina Walsh

Nina has over 15 years’ experience in the automotive industry, always in customer facing roles and largely in the Tier 1 supply chain. Her customers have included Ford, Aston Martin, Bentley and Lotus. Most recently, she made the transition from being a Tier 1 Account Manager looking after Jaguar Land Rover, to working on JLR’s Product Lifecycle Management project where, for the last four years, every working day has been an education.

Nina joined the APC team in early 2017 as TDAP Associate. TDAP is the Technology Developers Acceleration Programme, and she is responsible for supporting groups of SMEs in bringing their paradigm-changing technologies onto the UK’s automotive market.

Helena Moore

Project Delivery Lead

Helena joins the APC from a leadership role within Procter & Gamble’s product supply manufacturing unit. She was involved in guiding projects from R&D, through their innovation structure and on to the launch phase ensuring delivery on-time and on-budget.

As a Project Associate with APC, Helena is part of the technology and projects team and works closely with the successful consortia supporting them as part of their projects to turn low carbon propulsion technology into products developed in the UK. Helena is also engaged with the APC programmes to develop the wider UK Supply Chain.

Jon Regnart

Research Assistant

Jon Regnart has experience in policy and research within the sustainable energy sector, combined with a keen interest in the environment and public policy.

Jen McGlade

International Events Lead

Jen joins the APC from an environmental sustainability background. Since graduating with an MSc Sustainability with Business, she has worked in the Philippines on environmental awareness programmes and an energy efficiency project in the south of Spain.

Jen joined the APC in 2015 as the Marketing Events Executive, as part of the marketing and communications team. She has progressed to the role of International Events Lead and is the contact point for the BEIS (Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) programme of international events.

Alex Voss

Laura has a background in Marketing and Communicaton. She earned her Master’s degree in Marketing from the University of Fortaleza in Brazil. Laura has successfully worked in France, Spain and Belgium in the marketing and retail industries.

Winnie Cheng

Office Administrator

Winnie has over 15 years of experience working within customer focused, administrative environments and has a background in local government, retail and marketing. She has a BA Honours in Business Psychology and Advertising.

At the APC Winnie works closely with HR, finance and facilities and is responsible for office administration supporting the whole team in delivering the activities which help organisations develop and produce low carbon advanced propulsion technology.
